Kemper Marsh Kitchen Cabinets
Offered in the Kemper Emerge series
Marsh sits in the middle of the value range — a soft gray-green with just enough olive in it to feel grounded rather than cold. It reads calm and a little weathered, and it suits homeowners who want color in a kitchen without anything loud about it.

Color & Look
This is a mid-depth color, dark enough to register from the doorway and light enough that a full run of it still feels open. The green is heavily grayed, and it is the yellow side of green doing the work rather than the blue side. That is what gives Marsh its dusty, dried-herb quality instead of the cleaner mineral green you get from a bluer sage. The sample is a flat, even painted surface with a low sheen — no glaze, no wiping, no wood figure showing through.
In a north-facing kitchen Marsh loses most of its warmth and settles toward a soft gray, close enough to greige that some people stop reading it as green at all. Under south or west light the olive steps forward and the color looks noticeably warmer, sometimes close to khaki late in the afternoon. Warm bulbs push it the same direction. The swing between those two readings is wide, which is why we ask people to live with a sample on the actual wall before committing a whole kitchen.
Seen alone, Marsh is often mistaken for a greige or a mushroom brown, which is a fair measure of how soft it is. Set it beside Retreat and the difference is easy to read: Retreat holds a cooler, truer green while Marsh leans yellow and reads warmer and dustier. Next to a true sage it looks less minty and more worn. The paint is opaque and consistent edge to edge, with nothing in the finish to catch light or break up the color.
Construction & Quality
Kemper has been making cabinetry in America since 1926 and is part of the MasterBrand family. Offered in the Kemper Emerge series.
Emerge is Kemper’s most personalized series: all-plywood construction, custom sizing, and a choice of full-overlay, inset or beaded-inset doors, with specialty finishes, stain and glaze options and multiple edge profiles.
Kemper backs its cabinetry with a limited lifetime warranty; coverage and terms are set by Kemper.
Where It Works
Marsh has enough depth to carry a full kitchen without closing the room in, as long as the room gets decent daylight. In a smaller kitchen we usually put it on the lowers and the island and keep the uppers white or off-white, which holds the ceiling height and gives the green a clean edge to sit against. In a room with a large window, or a pair of them, it can run all the way up and still feel easy.
Shaker doors suit it best, and the inset option in the Emerge series gives it a quieter, more traditional line. Because Marsh is so restrained, it does not fight a busy floor or a patterned rug. Beyond the kitchen it is a sensible mudroom or laundry color — the slightly dirty green hides real use far better than a pale finish would. In a powder room it reads darker and more deliberate, which is often the reason to use it there.
Pairing Ideas
Countertops
We keep the counter bright so the green stays legible. Vicostone Taj Mahal or Vicostone Titanium, both bright white quartz and near-solid, give the cleanest separation. If the room needs movement, MSI Calacatta Miraggio Lusso brings marble-look veining in bright white quartz without introducing a second color to argue with the olive.

MSI Silva Oak Hexagon, a cream glass tile, warms Marsh up and plays to its yellow side. For a cooler, more recessive wall, MSI Stonella Hexagon in gray glass sits back and lets the cabinets lead. MSI Victorian Light Arabesque in white glass is the brightest of the three and the safer pick when the countertop is already busy.

Warm metals do the most here. The Berenson Swagger 96mm Modern Brushed Gold Pull picks up the olive and keeps a long run from going flat, and the Berenson 128mm Champagne Bar Pull is the softer version of the same idea. If you want Marsh to read cooler and more current, the Berenson Metro 160mm Matte Black Pull will do it.
Pulls & knobs →Floors
Mid-tone engineered hardwood with a neutral brown cast is the safest partner; strongly red or orange wood will fight the olive. A light white oak floor also works and makes the cabinets the darker element in the room. For a kitchen that takes hard use, LVP in a muted oak look is waterproof and scratch-resistant and keeps the same restrained palette.
