Here are the questions DuPage County homeowners ask us most — about costs, timelines, materials, our process, and what to expect. If you don't find your answer here, call us at (630) 733-7700 or schedule a design discovery.

Costs & Budget

Kitchen remodels in DuPage County typically range from $15,000 to $75,000 depending on kitchen size, cabinet quality, countertop material, and scope of work. A cabinet-and-countertop refresh runs $15,000–$25,000. A full mid-range remodel runs $25,000–$50,000. High-end full remodels with custom cabinets start at $50,000+. We provide a detailed, line-item estimate after your design discovery — no surprises. Read our full kitchen remodel cost guide →
Bathroom remodels range from $5,000 for a vanity-and-countertop swap to $50,000+ for a full master bathroom renovation. Guest bathroom full remodels typically run $12,000–$25,000. The biggest cost drivers are the vanity/cabinetry (25–35% of budget) and tile work. We'll give you a detailed estimate based on your specific bathroom. Read our bathroom remodel cost guide →

No. Walk in anytime during business hours. If you'd like dedicated time with a designer to discuss your specific project, scheduling a consultation ahead of time ensures someone is available to sit down with you — but it's not required for browsing. Schedule a design consultation →
If you have them: rough kitchen or bathroom measurements, photos of your current space, inspiration images (from Pinterest, Houzz, or magazines), and a general budget range. If you don't have any of that, come anyway. We'll work with what you've got and help you figure out next steps. What to expect at our showroom →

Cabinets

Production cabinets come in standard sizes with limited finishes — most affordable and fastest delivery (1–2 weeks). Semi-custom cabinets offer modified sizing, more finish options, and better construction — our most popular option (4–6 week lead time). Custom cabinets are built to your exact specifications (8–12 weeks). We carry all three and can help you decide which fits your project. Compare all three types →
We carry shaker (the most popular), raised panel (traditional), and flat panel/slab (modern) door styles. Each is available in white, painted colors (navy, gray, green, black, and more), and natural wood stains (maple, oak, cherry, walnut). You can see every combination in our showroom. Browse all kitchen cabinet options →
Check three things: drawer joints (dovetail is strongest, stapled is weakest), box material (plywood outlasts particleboard), and hinge type (soft-close should be standard, not an upgrade). We'll walk you through these details in the showroom so you can feel the difference yourself. Our guide to choosing kitchen cabinets →
Yes — that's called cabinet refacing. You keep the existing cabinet boxes and get new doors, drawer fronts, and optional veneer on the visible box surfaces. It typically costs 40–50% less than full replacement and takes less time. It's a great option if your cabinet boxes are structurally sound but the look is dated. Learn about cabinet refacing →

Countertops & Materials

We carry quartz (most popular), granite, marble, butcher block, and solid surface countertops. Each has different characteristics for durability, maintenance, appearance, and price. You can see full-size samples of every material in our Wheaton showroom. Browse countertop options →
Both are excellent — it depends on what matters most to you. Quartz is engineered, non-porous, and never needs sealing — the lowest-maintenance option. Granite is natural stone with one-of-a-kind patterns — each slab is unique. Quartz offers more consistent patterns; granite offers natural character. Both are extremely durable. Yes. If your cabinets are structurally sound, replacing just the countertops is a common and cost-effective upgrade. New countertops alone can dramatically change the look and feel of your kitchen. We'll assess your cabinets during the consultation to confirm they can support new tops. Countertop installation process →

The Remodeling Process

Our process has five steps: (1) Design discovery to discuss your project, (2) Design — we create 3D renderings of your new kitchen or bathroom, (3) Material selection at the showroom, (4) Professional installation by our local crew, (5) Final walkthrough to make sure everything meets your expectations. One team manages everything from start to finish. See our full process in detail →
A kitchen remodel involves design (2–4 weeks), cabinet manufacturing/delivery (2–6 weeks depending on type), then demolition and installation (1–3 weeks). You'll be without full use of your kitchen during the installation phase — typically 1–3 weeks. We'll help you plan for that and keep you updated throughout. What to expect during a kitchen remodel →
Both. Some homeowners come to us for cabinets and countertops only, and coordinate other trades themselves. Others want us to manage the full project — cabinets, countertops, flooring, wall panels, design, and installation. We tailor the scope to what you need. Timeline & Scheduling

Most kitchen remodels take 6–10 weeks from design approval to completion. The biggest variable is cabinet lead time: production ships in 1–2 weeks, semi-custom takes 4–6 weeks, and custom takes 8–12 weeks. We'll give you a specific, realistic timeline during your consultation. Detailed kitchen remodel timeline →
Any time works, but spring and early fall are the most popular. Starting your design consultation 2–3 months before you want construction to begin gives time for design, material selection, and cabinet ordering. If you want your kitchen done before the holidays, schedule your consultation by late summer.

Installation

Our own experienced, local installation crews. We don't subcontract to whoever's available — the people who install your cabinets work with us directly and know our quality standards. They've installed hundreds of kitchens across DuPage County. How our installation process works →
Yes. We stand behind our installation with a workmanship warranty. If something isn't right after installation — a door alignment issue, a drawer adjustment, anything — we'll come back and fix it. We also pass through all manufacturer warranties on cabinets, countertops, and hardware. Our warranty and guarantee →
