Fabuwood Indigo Kitchen Cabinets
Available on Galaxy, Luna, Fusion, Nexus, Luxe and Echo doors
Not quite navy and not quite charcoal, Indigo lives in the space between them — a deep, dusty blue with so much gray in it that it changes identity depending on what sits beside it. It gives a kitchen weight without the hard edge of a black, and we use it most often on islands.

Color & Look
The measured hue is squarely blue but the saturation is low, and that is the whole character of the color. What you get is a slate: the blue is unmistakable next to a gray and almost disappears next to a true navy, where Indigo looks the grayer of the two. Value sits low, roughly a third of the way up from black, so it behaves like a dark color in a room even though it is not as absolute as a black.
Blues are the most light-sensitive family we deal with. In north light Indigo goes cooler and grayer, closer to a storm color; in warm afternoon sun the blue comes up and it looks more clearly navy. Under 2700K bulbs at night it dulls toward charcoal and the blue can vanish altogether. That swing is larger than most people expect, and it is the best single reason to look at a door sample in your own room at several times of day.
It is commonly mistaken for navy in photographs and for charcoal in person under poor light — both readings are fair, because the color genuinely sits between the two. What it is not is a bright or royal blue. On the Galaxy shaker the paint is opaque with a low sheen, and the flat panel inside a squared frame gives you a crisp shadow line at the panel edge. No grain shows through, and there is no glaze.
Construction & Quality
Indigo is a Fabuwood Allure finish. It is available on Galaxy, Luna, Fusion, Nexus, Luxe and Echo doors, all built on plywood cabinet boxes with solid-wood drawer boxes assembled with dovetail joints.
On the framed panel doors, the door frames are joined with mortise-and-tenon joinery. Every Fabuwood cabinet is fitted with Blum soft-close hinges and drawer systems. Fabuwood backs its cabinetry with a lifetime warranty, with a separate Blum warranty on the hardware, and lists CARB2 compliance and ICC-ES and AWI/QCP certification.
Fabuwood groups its colors in tiers: Indigo is a Signature color, the tier Fabuwood keeps in stock.
Where It Works
As an island color beneath white or off-white perimeter cabinets, Indigo is one of the most requested combinations we install, and it is the lowest-risk way to use it. A full kitchen in Indigo is possible in a bright room with tall ceilings and it looks confident, but in an average-sized room it will feel enclosed. Lowers in Indigo with a light upper is the middle ground, and that works in most kitchens.
It fits transitional and traditional rooms comfortably, and modern ones with the right hardware. Beyond the kitchen we like it on a powder room vanity, where a small dark space is an asset, in a bar, and in a laundry where a colored cabinet gives an otherwise plain room some identity. A built-in office wall in Indigo reads calm and slightly formal without going as severe as black.
Pairing Ideas
Countertops
White quartz is what makes a blue island work — Cambria Highgate as a near-solid, Cambria Brittanicca or Whitney for marble-look movement. If you want the scheme warmer, Cambria Brittanicca Gold Warm and Inverness Gold bring a cream base and gold-toned veining that flatters brass hardware. Gray-veined stone will emphasise the gray already sitting in the color.

The wall is where you win back the light, so a white marble-look mosaic such as MSI Bianco Dolomite Dotty Pattern or Calacatta Blanco Pattern Polished does a lot for a blue kitchen. MSI Athena Gold Chevron Honed carries a warm gold thread that pairs with brass pulls. MSI Carrara White Basketweave Honed is the most traditional pattern of the group.

Brass and gold against a dusty blue is the pairing that sells the color — the Berenson 128mm Champagne Bar Pull or the Berenson Swagger 96mm Modern Brushed Gold Pull. Matte black is the quieter option and lets the blue lead. Brushed nickel reads cooler and pushes Indigo further toward gray, which is worth knowing before you choose it.
Pulls & knobs →Floors
Warm wood is the natural balance for a cool cabinet color, and a mid-brown engineered or solid hardwood grounds a blue kitchen better than anything else. Pale oak works when you want the room bright and the island standing alone. Gray flooring is the combination to be careful with — gray under a grayed blue can leave the room looking washed out.
