Bertch Harbor Bathroom Vanity Finish
Offered on Bertch’s Classic and Furniture vanities
Harbor is a light gray carrying a quiet green cast, a soft and slightly weathered gray that sits a shade deeper than a pure neutral. It gives a bathroom vanity a bit of color without becoming a color, which suits rooms where white feels too stark and sage feels too green.

Color & Look
This is a pale gray with a green undertone, not a green with gray in it, and the difference matters. The color sits a step darker than a true light gray and has a faint chalky softness to it, roughly the color of driftwood left out in the weather for a season. There is no blue and no beige. Opaque paint means no grain comes through, so what you see is exactly this, flat and even across the face.
Bathroom light pulls the undertone around. Warm bulbs over a mirror bring the green forward and Harbor edges toward a very pale sage; cool daylight pushes it back and it reads as a plain soft gray. Set beside white tile the green is obvious, and set beside a greige floor it disappears into the gray. In a room with one window, expect the doors nearest the glass to read cooler than the ones in the corner.
Harbor gets called greige, sea glass, mist and sometimes just gray. The nearest comparison in the range is Lighthouse, the cleaner neutral — place the two together and Harbor is the one that looks faintly green and a touch deeper. It is also a much paler relative of Sage, which commits to the green properly. The surface has a low satin sheen, no texture to speak of, and no glaze pooled anywhere.
Series & Construction
Harbor is one of Bertch’s painted colors, offered on the Classic and Furniture series. Classic is Bertch’s framed series, built in solid hardwood and offered in more door styles and finishes than any other — stains, painted colors and hand-applied glazes across eight wood species.
Bertch builds these on 3/4" solid hardwood door frames with raised or flat panels, 5/8" solid hardwood drawer boxes dovetailed front and back, and plywood floors, backs and shelves with a natural birch veneer interior. Undermount soft-close drawer glides and concealed soft-close hinges come standard.
Every Bertch vanity is built to order in Waterloo, Iowa: configurations, storage solutions, tops and finishes are selected per project, nothing is off-the-shelf. Bertch warrants its products to be free from defects in material or workmanship for as long as they are owned by the original purchaser.
Where It Works
Harbor suits a primary bath where the goal is quiet rather than bright. It has enough value to give a white top something to sit against, and the green cast keeps it from feeling cold next to chrome or white tile. In a small powder room it still brightens, though less than Lighthouse does. It works on a floating vanity and on a freestanding one, where the soft color reads a little more traditional with legs under it.
As a mid-pale color it is easy to live with. Toothpaste shows less than on white, dust shows far less than on a dark finish, and water spots dry away without a visible ring on the vertical faces. The spots that need attention are the usual ones, around the pulls and along the top edge of a drawer front. Among the Classic styles it reads well on Harper and Craftwood, and it gives Centennial a softer, coastal feel.
Pairing Ideas
Vanity Top
A bright top sharpens Harbor’s green; a soft one lets it recede. Bertch White Ice — Veined Quartz and Bertch Solid White — Cultured Marble take the first route, and Bertch Sea Salt — Oasis Solid Surface the second. Bertch Galena — Oasis Solid Surface keeps it tonal and gray, and Bertch Carbon — Oasis Solid Surface darkens it. For a custom slab, Vicostone Delicato — white quartz.
Bertch vanity tops →Sink & Bowl
Oasis tops come with an integrated bowl, so the deck and basin are one piece and there is no rim to work around when you wipe the counter down. Veined quartz and cultured marble take an undermount bowl. Two bowls suit a bath that two people share at the same hour, but the middle drawers usually go to make room, which is worth a hard look first.
Hardware & Legs
The green cast makes warm metals look good here. The Berenson 128mm Champagne Bar Pull and the Berenson Swagger 96mm Modern Brushed Gold Pull both lift it. For a cooler, quieter result, use the Berenson Bravo 56mm Brushed Nickel Pull or the Berenson Epoch Edge 128mm Vintage Nickel Pull. On a freestanding piece, Bertch’s Wood Leg 01 or Wood Leg 15 keeps it furniture-like.
Pulls & knobs →Mirror & Lighting
Let the mirror be a few inches narrower than the counter so the color of the vanity frames it on both sides. Sconces to either side at face height give the most even light and keep the green undertone consistent, where a single overhead fixture tends to gray it down and throws a shadow under the chin.
