Kemper Titanium Kitchen Cabinets
Offered in the Kemper Echo, Choice and Emerge series
Dark, cool and quiet, Titanium sits at the near-black end of the stain range without tipping into true black. There is brown in it, but very little color, and straight grain lines run through the surface from top to bottom. It suits contemporary rooms that want depth rather than warmth.

Color & Look
Start with how dark it is: this is one of the deepest finishes short of a true espresso, and in most light it reads as a very dark neutral rather than as a wood tone. The undertone is warm on paper and cool in practice — a trace of brown keeps it from looking gray, but there is almost no saturation, so nothing in it reads as red or gold. Think smoke over oak rather than chocolate.
Under north light the gray side dominates and Titanium can come close to a soft black, particularly on surfaces facing away from the window. Direct sun does more for it than for most dark stains, because it lights up the grain lines and reveals the brown underneath. Warm evening bulbs pull it a little browner again. Whatever the light, it gives very little back, so the rest of the room has to supply the brightness.
The grain is the reason this does not look like paint. Long straight lines run vertically through the finish, clearly spaced and easy to see, so the whole face carries a linear texture. It is often mistaken for a stained rift oak or a very dark weathered wood, and in photographs people sometimes take it for black paint outright. In person the lines give it away immediately, even at a few paces.
Construction & Quality
Kemper has been making cabinetry in America since 1926 and is part of the MasterBrand family. Offered in the Kemper Echo, Choice and Emerge series.
Emerge is Kemper’s most personalized series: all-plywood construction, custom sizing, and a choice of full-overlay, inset or beaded-inset doors, with specialty finishes, stain and glaze options and multiple edge profiles.
Kemper backs its cabinetry with a limited lifetime warranty; coverage and terms are set by Kemper.
Where It Works
This is a color for contrast. A whole kitchen in Titanium needs strong daylight and bright surfaces around it; otherwise the room closes down. More often we use it on the island, the lower cabinets, or a single tall run, with light uppers above. Against white counters and a pale backsplash it draws a crisp line through the room and makes the architecture read. In a large open kitchen, a full run of it can be genuinely handsome.
It belongs in contemporary and modern transitional rooms, on flat-panel or simple shaker doors where the straight grain has space to show. Elsewhere in the house it is a strong choice for an office or media room wall, a bar, and a modern bath vanity where a dark base under a white top is the look. In a mudroom or laundry it is practical as well as smart, since it does not show everyday marks.
Pairing Ideas
Countertops
High contrast is the point here. MSI Carrara Miksa and MSI Calacatta Laza Gold give bright white with clear veining that stands out sharply against this much depth. For something softer, MSI Madreperola quartzite in cream warms the pairing without losing the break. MSI Arabescus White marble is the most dramatic option, with veining bold enough to hold its own.

White tile keeps the room from going too heavy. MSI Statuario Celano Hexagon and MSI Teardrop Tuxe 6mm both add shape while staying bright. MSI Urban Wave Lapis Glass gives a little more movement across the wall. If you want the tile to sit closer to the cabinetry, MSI Winslow Weave Polished in gray bridges the two without the full white-on-black contrast.
Backsplash tile →Hardware
Brushed nickel and chrome both read crisply against this color, and the Berenson Bravo 56mm brushed nickel is the easy default. For warmth and visible contrast, the Berenson 128mm Champagne Bar Pull stands out cleanly. Matte black is the one to think twice about — the Berenson Metro 160mm will almost vanish, which is a legitimate look but not a decorative one.
Pulls & knobs →Floors
Light floors do the most for Titanium. A pale or mid engineered hardwood, a gray-toned LVP, or large-format porcelain in a light neutral all give the value break this color needs. A dark floor under dark cabinetry is possible in a big, bright room but hard to pull off anywhere else. If the floor is already dark, plan on light uppers.
