Bertch Joss Bathroom Vanity Style
Linea series · Frameless · foil
Joss is a flat slab front wrapped in matte foil: one even color, no grain, no sheen and no joint to see at the corner. The fronts are frameless and nearly touch, so the gaps between them are the only lines. It suits contemporary bathrooms and family ones, because almost nothing shows on it.

Design & Profile
The front is about as plain as a cabinet front gets. Each piece is a flat slab wrapped in foil, so the face and the edges are one continuous skin with no seam at the corner and no joint to catch a fingernail. The sample shows a warm mid-gray with no figure in it at all — the surface is completely even from corner to corner, and the only variation across the whole front comes from how light falls on it.
The fronts stack the usual way: a wide drawer across the top, a tall door below on one side, and two drawers stacked beside it. Frameless and full overlay, they leave only a narrow reveal between each piece, and against a mid-tone matte surface those reveals read as pale lines rather than dark ones. The vanity is therefore drawn in light on gray, which is the reverse of how a gloss front behaves in the same layout.
In a small bathroom this is the quiet option. A matte surface absorbs light rather than returning it, so the vanity recedes and whatever else is in the room — the tile, the mirror, a fixture — carries the interest. It also hides a great deal: no sheen means no visible fingerprints, no water spotting and no reflected clutter. The trade is that a matte front contributes nothing to brightening a dark room.
Series & Construction
Joss is part of Bertch’s Linea series — frameless · foil. Linea is Bertch’s contemporary frameless collection — full-access European construction, flat slab and reveal doors, high-gloss acrylic and matte or textured foil, freestanding or wall-mounted.
Bertch builds these full-access frameless, with 5/8" solid hardwood drawer boxes dovetailed front and back and plywood floors, backs and shelves. Undermount soft-close drawer glides and concealed soft-close hinges come standard.
Every Bertch vanity is built to order in Waterloo, Iowa: configurations, storage solutions, tops and finishes are selected per project, nothing is off-the-shelf. Bertch warrants its products to be free from defects in material or workmanship for as long as they are owned by the original purchaser.
Finishes
The matte and textured foils are the point of this style. Wrapped over a flat slab, a foil gives one uninterrupted color with none of the brush marks or sheen variation that paint on wood can show, and the textured options add a fine tooth you feel more than you see. The high-gloss acrylics are the other half of the Linea range and change the piece completely: the same slab turns reflective, the reveals darken, and the vanity starts bouncing the room back at you. The shape stays identical; only the behavior changes.
Pairing Ideas
Vanity Top
A matte front takes a busier top than a gloss one will. Bertch Chipped Ice — Veined Quartz gives pattern without color; Bertch Galena — Oasis Solid Surface or Bertch Carbon — Oasis Solid Surface stay in the same gray family and let the room’s tile lead. Bertch Latte — Oasis Solid Surface warms it up. In custom stone, Vicostone Splendix — white quartz.
Bertch vanity tops →Sink & Bowl
An Oasis top with the bowl integrated into the deck keeps the look as seamless above as the foil is below. Undermounting under quartz introduces a visible stone edge at the bowl, which gives a flat front one point of interest. One bowl keeps both stacked drawers; two usually means the lower drawer becomes a shallow tray around the trap.
Hardware & Legs
Matte foil is a forgiving background, so hardware can carry the room. Berenson 128mm Champagne Bar Pull or Berenson Swagger 96mm Modern Brushed Gold Pull warm a gray front, while Berenson Metro 160mm Matte Black Pull keeps it monochrome. The knurled and ribbed pieces in the Richelieu Inspiration section add the texture these slabs deliberately leave out.
Pulls & knobs →Mirror & Lighting
A frameless or thinly framed mirror, a little narrower than the vanity, keeps the flat language consistent. Sconces beside the mirror do most of the useful work on a matte front, which returns very little of an overhead fixture’s light. In a windowless room, plan on more light than you would give a gloss or pale vanity.
