Bertch White Bathroom Vanity Finish
Offered on Bertch’s Classic and Furniture vanities
White is the cleanest painted color in the range: a near-pure white with only the faintest cool tinge keeping it from reading sterile. It gives a bathroom vanity a crisp, unfussy face and lets the top, the hardware and the tile do the talking. It is the safest choice here, and the least forgiving.

Color & Look
This is a true white, not a cream and not a greige. There is a trace of cool in it, a hair of gray that keeps the surface from glaring, but no blue, no green and no yellow worth naming. Depth is almost nil by design: the paint is opaque, so nothing of the wood shows through and the face reads as one even plane. Next to a bright white quartz it will look very slightly softer.
White is the finish most changed by the bulbs above it. Warm lighting pushes it toward ivory and makes it agree with brass; neutral or daylight bulbs keep it crisp and cool. A single window swings it through the day, warm at sunset and flat at midday. Because it reflects so much, a white vanity also picks up color from everything around it — a green wall or a saturated floor will tint the door faces more than you expect.
People often assume a white vanity is laminate or thermofoil, and here it is neither: this is paint over hardwood, so the door edges stay crisp and the color carries across the frame and the panel without a wrapped seam. Up close the surface is very slightly textured rather than glassy, and the sheen is a low satin. There is no glaze on it, so nothing settles into a corner or darkens along an edge.
Series & Construction
White is one of Bertch’s painted colors, offered on the Classic and Furniture series. Classic is Bertch’s framed series, built in solid hardwood and offered in more door styles and finishes than any other — stains, painted colors and hand-applied glazes across eight wood species.
Bertch builds these on 3/4" solid hardwood door frames with raised or flat panels, 5/8" solid hardwood drawer boxes dovetailed front and back, and plywood floors, backs and shelves with a natural birch veneer interior. Undermount soft-close drawer glides and concealed soft-close hinges come standard.
Every Bertch vanity is built to order in Waterloo, Iowa: configurations, storage solutions, tops and finishes are selected per project, nothing is off-the-shelf. Bertch warrants its products to be free from defects in material or workmanship for as long as they are owned by the original purchaser.
Where It Works
White works anywhere, which is both its strength and the reason to think it through. In a small or windowless bathroom it is the best-performing finish we offer, because it bounces what little light there is instead of absorbing it. In a large primary bath it can read flat unless something else carries the room: a veined top, a strong floor, or hardware with some presence. Floating or freestanding, it disappears into the wall, which is often the point.
It is also the least forgiving finish day to day. Toothpaste, mascara and hard-water spray all show on white, and the area right around the pulls needs wiping more often than on a stain. The upside is that everything that shows also comes off easily, and nothing hides in the grain, because there is no grain. Among the Classic styles it suits Centennial and Edgewood, where the door’s own shadow does the shaping that color is not doing.
Pairing Ideas
Vanity Top
White is the one finish where a matching top is a real option: Bertch Solid White — Cultured Marble gives a seamless all-white vanity. If you want separation, Bertch Galena — Oasis Solid Surface or Bertch Carbon — Oasis Solid Surface draw a clear line at the counter, and Bertch Chipped Ice — Veined Quartz splits the difference. For a custom slab, Vicostone Bendecio — white quartz.
Bertch vanity tops →Sink & Bowl
An Oasis top arrives with its bowl integrated, so a white vanity can run counter into bowl as one continuous surface with no rim to catch grime — a tidy look that is also the easiest to keep clean. Cultured marble and veined quartz take undermount bowls instead. Two bowls on a white vanity read generous, but the middle drawers go with them.
Hardware & Legs
On white, the pulls are the only jewelry, so pick them first. The Berenson Metro 160mm Matte Black Pull is the sharpest contrast, the Berenson Swagger 96mm Modern Brushed Gold Pull warms the room, and the Berenson Bravo 56mm Brushed Nickel Pull stays quiet. Richelieu Inspiration section — knurled, ribbed or fluted pieces give texture where the door gives none.
Pulls & knobs →Mirror & Lighting
Against a white vanity a framed mirror does more than a frameless one, because the frame gives the wall an edge that the cabinet is not providing. Keep it a little narrower than the top and hang sconces to either side rather than a single bar above, which on a reflective white front can double up and glare.
