Kemper Faye Cabinet Door
Offered in the Kemper Echo, Choice and Emerge series
Plain is a design decision, and Faye makes it well. Flat frame, flat recessed panel, a square cut between them and a reveal thin enough to read as a pencil line. It does not push the room in any direction, which is exactly why it ends up in modern and classic kitchens alike.

Design & Profile
The shoulder at the panel opening is cut square and the reveal is tight, so the shadow is a fine, even line all the way around rather than a band. Nothing is eased, stepped or beveled. The frame face sits in one plane and the panel sits a short distance below it. On a light finish the outline is faint and the door nearly reads as a single surface; on a deeper finish the line sharpens and the panel separates clearly.
Rail and stile widths are moderate — narrow enough to keep wall cabinets light, wide enough to look like a shaker rather than a frame around a hole — and the bottom rail runs a touch deeper. The drawer front tightens the rails and stretches the panel, so a drawer bank reads as a series of thin horizontal lines. The whole door is made of right angles, and it looks it from any distance.
That neutrality is the reason to choose it. In a modern kitchen the square cut and tight reveal keep up with flat-panel appliances and minimal hardware; in a classic kitchen the same door carries crown, a furniture island and a stone backsplash without arguing. It suits any room in the house for that reason — kitchens, baths, laundries, built-in bookcases — and it stays legible whether the cabinetry is painted light or stained dark.
Series & Construction
Faye is a full overlay door, offered in the Kemper Echo, Choice and Emerge series. Kemper lists it in Maple, Cherry, Oak, Walnut, Rustic Alder and Quartersawn White Oak.
Kemper has been making cabinetry in America since 1926 and is part of the MasterBrand family. Emerge is Kemper’s most personalized series: all-plywood construction, custom sizing, specialty finishes, stain and glaze options and multiple edge profiles. Kemper backs its cabinetry with a limited lifetime warranty; coverage and terms are set by Kemper.
Kemper shows Faye as 5-Piece and Square.
Finishes
With no step, bead or cove, paint lies flat and even, and the finish you see on a sample is the finish you get on a door. The square shoulder keeps a light paint from going completely blank: there is just enough shadow to find the panel. Deeper paints look sharper on this profile than on a softened one, because the line around each opening stays crisp instead of blurring.
Stain on maple, cherry, oak, walnut, rustic alder or quartersawn white oak runs across the whole front with only the square cut to interrupt it, so the grain is the detail. Glaze is the finish with the least to do here — with nothing to collect in, it reads as a tint over the surface and a faint darkening in the corners rather than as an outline around the panel.
Pairing Ideas
Countertops
A neutral door lets the counter decide the room’s temperature. Cambria Brittanicca Block or Cambria Inverness Frost in bright white with veining give you pattern; Cambria Seagrove in gray with veining cools it; Cambria Clovelly in cream warms it. For a kitchen where the backsplash or the floor is the feature, Cambria Hawksmoore in near-solid bright white is the restrained choice.
Countertops we carry →Backsplash
The square reveal reads well against curves. MSI Calacatta Blanco Scallop Polished and MSI Cecily Pattern Polished, both white, bring shape to a wall of right angles. MSI Dymo Wavy White 12X24 Glossy 3D does it with texture instead of pattern. MSI Glossy White is the plainest option and the easiest to live with over a long run.
Backsplash tile →Hardware
With a door this neutral, hardware sets the style. Matte black in the Berenson Metro 160mm pulls it modern; the Berenson Epoch Edge 128mm Vintage Nickel Pull pulls it classic; the Berenson 128mm Champagne Bar Pull sits between. Knobs on doors and pulls on drawers is a traditional mix this profile accepts without looking confused.
Pulls & knobs →Floors
Faye takes any of the usual floors. Engineered hardwood is the safe choice over a slab; solid hardwood suits an older house with a crawl space or basement. LVP is waterproof and scratch-resistant for a hard-working kitchen, and large-format porcelain tile suits a bath. The door will not fight the floor’s pattern, so choose the floor on performance first.
